Messengers! Partake of the things that are clean, and act righteously. I know well all that you do. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 So leave thou them in their perplexity for a time. 54 Do they assume that the wealth and sons which We provide them – 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Indeed those who are overwhelmed due to the fear of their Lord – 57 And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 And those who with their Lord associate not anyone. 59 And those who give what they give (in alms) while their hearts are full of fear that to their Lord they must return, 60 These people hasten to perform goodness, and it is they who shall reach it first. 61 And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are heedless of this. Moreover, there are other deeds besides this which they do. 63 Until when We lay hold of the luxuriant ones of them with the torment, and lo! then they are imploring! 64 (It will be said): "Groan not in supplication this day: for ye shall certainly not be helped by Us. 65 Indeed My Verses used to be recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels (denying them, and with hatred to listen to them). 66 Insolently, treating them like tales told at night." 67 Why did they not think over the message? Or has something come to them which had not come to their fathers? 68 Or is it that they have not recognized their Apostle, so that they deny him? 69 Or say they: "There is madness in him?" Nay, but he brought them the truth [i.e. "(A) Tauhid: Worshipping Allah Alone in all aspects (B) The Quran (C) The religion of Islam,"] but most of them (the disbelievers) are averse to the truth. 70 And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside. 71 Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 But indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviating from the path. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 when We opened on them a gate of severe punishment, they utterly despaired. 77
