(Before this,) We sent Moses The Book, and appointed his brother Aaron with him as minister; 35 then We said to them, "Go to the people who have treated Our Revelations as false. " So We annihilated those people utterly. 36 And the people of Nuh, when they rejected the apostles, We drowned them, and made them a sign for men, and We have prepared a painful punishment for the unjust; 37 And Ad, and Thamood, and the men of Er-Rass, and between that generations a many, 38 And for each We presented examples [as warnings], and each We destroyed with [total] destruction. 39 Surely, these people have passed by that habitation on which was rained an evil rain: have they not seen its ruins? But they do not expect another life in the Hereafter. 40 When they see you they take you only in jest: "Is this the one whom God has sent as messenger? 41 "He would have nearly misled us from our aliha (gods), had it not been that we were patient and constant in their worship!" And they will know when they see the torment, who it is that is most astray from the (Right) Path! 42 Did you see the one who chose his own desires as his God? So will you accept the responsibility of guarding him? 43 Do you think that most of them can hear or understand? They are like cattle, no, they are further astray from the Path. 44
