۞ And We inspired Moses, saying: Take away My slaves by night, for ye will be pursued. 52 So Firon sent heralds into the cities; 53 'These' they said, 'are a small band, 54 but they are indeed filled with hatred of us 55 seeing that we are, verily, a nation united, fully prepared against danger 56 and so we have [rightly] driven them out of [their] gardens and springs, 57 their treasures and their noble dwellings -- 58 and We made the Children of Israel inheritors of these bounties. 59 And so [the Egyptians] caught up with them at sunrise; 60 and when the two groups saw each other, Moses' companions said, "We are sure to be overtaken." 61 Said he, 'No indeed; surely my Lord is with me; He will guide me.' 62 Thereupon We inspired Moses thus: Strike the sea with thy staff!" - whereupon it parted, and each part appeared like a mountain vast. 63 And there We brought the others on, 64 And We saved Musa (Moses) and all those with him. 65 then, We drowned the others. 66 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 67 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 68
