And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them." 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They answered: "No; but we found our forefathers doing so." 74 Thereupon, Abraham said: "Have you seen (with your eyes) those whom you have been worshipping, 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 [And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous. 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 And put me among the inheritors of Paradise. 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 And abase me not on the day when they are raised, 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 "'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?' 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 And there and then, blaming one another, they [who had grievously sinned in life] will exclaim: 96 "'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest, 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was naught but the sinners that led us astray; 99 Now we have no intercessors, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104

Notes and Instructions
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
