The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
