The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 “And fear Him Who created you and the earlier creations.” 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars. 186 Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
