The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AlifLaamMeem. 1 Do men imagine that they will be left (at ease) because they say, We believe, and will not be tested with affliction? 2 We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false. 3 Do the evil-doers suppose that they will get the better of Us? How evil is their judgement! 4 He who hopes to meet Allah (must know) that the term of Allah is coming. He is the Hearer, the Knower. 5 And whosoever strive, striveth only for himself: verily Allah is Independent of the worlds. 6 And as for those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds, We shall most certainly efface their [previous] bad deeds, and shall most certainly reward them in accordance with the best that they ever did. 7 We have enjoined man to show kindness to his parents. But if they bid you associate with Me something about which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me you shall all return, and I shall tell you about all that you have done. 8 As for those who believed and acted righteously, We shall certainly admit them among the righteous. 9 And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allah, they consider the trial of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, they say, "Indeed, We were with you." Is not Allah most knowing of what is within the breasts of all creatures? 10 And Allah will surely make evident those who believe, and He will surely make evident the hypocrites. 11 Those who deny say to those who affirm: "Follow our way; we shall carry the burden of your sins." But they cannot carry the burden of their sins in the least. They are liars indeed. 12 But they verily will bear their own loads and other loads beside their own, and they verily will be questioned on the Day of Resurrection concerning that which they invented. 13
