Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 Those are the signs of the Wise Book 2 for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers 3 Those who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and they are certain of the hereafter. 4 It is they who are on true guidance from their Lord, and it is they who shall prosper. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 And when Our communications are recited to him, he turns back proudly, as if he had not heard them, as though in his ears were a heaviness, therefore announce to him a painful chastisement. 7 Verily, those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them are Gardens of delight (Paradise). 8 They will abide in them for ever. The promise of God is true; and He is all-mighty and all-wise. 9 He has created the heavens without pillar as you can see, fixed the mountains on earth so that it may not shake you away, and settled therein all types of living creatures. We have sent down water from the sky and made all kinds of plants grow in gracious pairs. 10 Such is the creation of Allah; now show me what, other than Him, created! No, the harmdoers are in clear error. 11
