۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 “And you will not be compensated except for your deeds.” 39 But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 In gardens of delight, 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
