Hizb 46

AND, BEHOLD, Jonah was indeed one of Our message-bearers 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)! 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 But as for you, and that you worship, 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 we are they that give glory. 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And that Our host, they verily would be the victors. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
