These are only awaiting for a single Cry, to which there is no delay. 15 They say: "Our Lord! hasten to us our sentence (even) before the Day of Account!" 16 Bear with their words patiently. Remember Our servant David, a man of strength who always turned to Us: 17 We made the mountains join him in glorifying Us at sunset and sunrise; 18 And (so did) the birds assembled: all with him [Dawud (David)] did turn (to Allah i.e. glorified His Praises). 19 And We strengthened his kingdom and endowed him with wisdom and decisive judgement. 20 ۞ Have you heard of the litigants who jumped over the wall into his chamber? 21 When they went in unto Da-ud, he was frightened at them. They said: fear not we are two contending parties; one of us hath oppressed the other, so judge between us with truth, and be not iniquitious, and guide us unto the even path. 22 Verily this my brother hath nine and ninety ewes while I have one ewe; and he saith: entrust it to me, and he hath prevailed upon me in speech. 23 Said he, 'Assuredly he has wronged thee in asking for thy ewe in addition to his sheep; and indeed many intermixers do injury one against the other, save those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness -- and how few they are!' And David thought that We had only tried him; therefore he sought forgiveness of his Lord, and he fell down, bowing, and he repented. ۩ 24 We forgave him his sins. His reward will be nearness to Us, a good place to return to. 25 [We said], "O David, indeed We have made you a successor upon the earth, so judge between the people in truth and do not follow [your own] desire, as it will lead you astray from the way of Allah." Indeed, those who go astray from the way of Allah will have a severe punishment for having forgotten the Day of Account. 26
