The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 The mountains made to move, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So whither do you stray? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
