SAY [O Muhammad]: "I am only a warner; and there is no deity whatever save God, the One, who holds absolute sway over all that exists, 65 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Mighty, the most Forgiving. 66 Say: "This is a momentous message, 67 but you have turned away from it. 68 "No knowledge have I of the Chiefs on high, when they discuss (matters) among themselves. 69 It is revealed unto me only that I may be a plain warner. 70 When thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to create a mortal out of mire, 71 So when I have fashioned him and breathed into him (his) soul created by Me, then you fall down prostrate to him." 72 Then the angels bowed before him in a body, 73 except iblis (satan, the father of the jinn), he became too proud, for he was one of the unbelievers. 74 Said He: "O Iblis! What has kept thee from prostrating thyself before that [being] which I have created with My hands? Art thou too proud [to bow down before another created being,] or art thou of those who think [only] of themselves as high?" 75 Said Iblis, “I am better than him; You made me from fire, and You have created him from clay!” 76 Allah said: get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art driven away. 77 My curse will remain upon you till the Day of Judgement!" 78 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 79 (Allah) said: "Respite then is granted thee- 80 Until the Day of the time well-known." 81 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "By Your Might, then I will surely mislead them all, 82 except those of Your servants, the chosen ones from amongst them.” 83 (God) said: "This is right by Me, and what I say is right. 84 I will fill up Hell with you together with those who follow you." 85 Say: I do not ask you for any reward for it; nor am I of those who affect: 86 This is nothing else but a reminder to all the worlds, 87 You will certainly know its truthfulness after a certain time. 88
