Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful, 2 a Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge, 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 They say: 'Our hearts are veiled from that to which you call us, and in our ears there is heaviness. And between us and you is a veil. So work (as you will) and we are working' 5 Say: 'I am only a mortal, like you are. To me it has been revealed that your God is One God; so go straight with Him, and ask for His forgiveness; and woe to the idolaters 6 (To) those who do not give poor-rate and they are unbelievers in the hereafter. 7 But those who believe and do the right, will have a continuing reward. 8
