Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha-Mim 1 I swear by the illustrious Book. 2 behold, We have caused it to be a discourse in the Arabic tongue, so that you might encompass it with your reason. 3 And verily it is, in the Original Book before Us, indeed exalted. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many Prophets We did send among the earlier people! 6 No Prophet came to them whom they did not mock. 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 [The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided 10 It is He who has sent down water from the sky in a known measure by which He has given life to the dead earth. In the same way will you also be resurrected. 11 It is He who has created everything in pairs and the ships and cattle for you to ride, 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 surely unto our Lord we are turning.' 14 The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful. 15
