Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
HA MIM. 1 I call to witness the lucent Book, 2 We have indeed sent it as a Qur’an in the Arabic language, so that you may understand. 3 And verily it is, in the Original Book before Us, indeed exalted. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you because you are a sinful nation? 5 How many a Prophet We sent among the ancients, 6 but not a Prophet came to them, without they mocked at him; 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 Yet if you were to ask them: “Who created the heavens and the earth?” they will certainly say: “The All-Mighty, the All-Knowing has created them.” 9 The One Who made the earth a bed for you, and made roads for you in it, so that you may be guided. 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 and who created the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you ships and cattle such as you ride, 12 That ye mount firmly on the backs thereof, and then may remember the favour of your Lord when ye mount thereon, and may say: hallowed be He Who hath subjected this unto us, and we for it were not fit. 13 And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return! 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
