۞ When (Jesus) the son of Mary is held up as an example, behold, thy people raise a clamour thereat (in ridicule)! 57 And say: "Are our deities better or he?" They say this only for disputing. Surely they are a contentious people. 58 (Jesus) was only a creature whom We favoured and made an example for the children of Israel. 59 if We had so wished, We could have appointed angels in exchange for you to succeed you on the earth. 60 And lo! verily there is knowledge of the Hour. So doubt ye not concerning it, but follow Me. This is the right path. 61 And never let Satan avert you. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy. 62 And when Isa came with evidences, he said: of a surety I have come unto you with wisdom, and to expound unto you some of that wherein ye differ; so fear Allah and obey me. 63 Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path." 64 Then the factions fell apart among themselves. So woe to the wrong-doers from the chastisement of a grievous Day. 65 Are they looking for anything except the Hour (to overtake them). It will come upon them suddenly when they are unaware! 66 Friends on that day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah). 67
