And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 These people say, 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 A day when friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped, 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
