The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
