And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge). 16 Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. 17 each word he utters shall be noted down by a vigilant guardian. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth: "This is what you have been avoiding!" 19 The trumpet will be sounded. This is the Day [you were] warned of. 20 And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind, 21 Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared." 23 The command was given: “Cast into Hell every hardened, stubborn unbeliever, 24 who hinders good, exceeds the limits, is immersed in doubts, 25 who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.' 26 ۞ His [devil] companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error." 27 He will say, “Do not dispute before Me – I had already warned you of the punishment.” 28 My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants. 29
