Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and the partitioners, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
