Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
