Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. 39 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
