The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Mount, 1 By a Decree inscribed 2 On an open record. 3 By the House Frequented. 4 by the high ceiling (heaven), 5 And the swollen sea 6 Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass, 7 Of it there is no preventer. 8 On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving, 9 And the mountains will pass on, departing - 10 woe that day unto those that cry lies, 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 On the Day whereon they will be pushed into Hell-Fire with a dreadful push. 13 'This is the fire that you cried lies to! 14 Is this magic, or is it that you do not see? 15 “Enter it – now whether you patiently bear it or are impatient – it is the same for you; for you is a recompense only for what you used to do.” 16 Indeed the pious are in Gardens and peace. 17 Happy because of what their Lord hath given them, and (because) their Lord hath warded off from them the torment of hell-fire. 18 Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. 19 reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. 20 And those who accepted faith, and whose descendants followed them with faith – We have joined their descendants with them, and have not reduced anything for them from their deeds; every soul is trapped in its own deeds. 21 And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. 24 They will converse with one another, putting questions to each other, 25 They will say: verily we were aforetime, midst our household, ever in dread. 26 but Allah has been gracious to us and has protected us from the punishment of the burning wind. 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
