The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Mount 1 And [by] a Book inscribed 2 on wide-open scrolls. 3 And by the Bait-ul-Ma'mur (the house over the heavens parable to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angels); 4 And the elevated canopy 5 and the sea swarming, 6 Indeed your Lord’s punishment will surely take place. 7 There is none that can ward it off. 8 Upon the day when heaven spins dizzily 9 And the mountains will move away with a (horrible) movement. 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 On the Day whereon they will be pushed into Hell-Fire with a dreadful push. 13 This is the Fire which you used to belie. 14 Is this magic? or ye still see not clearly! 15 Endure it [now]! But [whether you] bear yourselves with patience or without patience, it will be the same to you: you are but being requited for what you were wont to do." 16 Indeed the pious are in Gardens and peace. 17 rejoicing in whatever their Lord has given them. Their Lord has saved them from the torment of the Fire, 18 (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do, 19 Reclining on couches ranged. And We shall couple them with maidens wide eyed. 20 We shall unite the believers with those descendants of theirs who followed them in their faith, and shall not deny them any part of the reward for their good deeds. Every person is pledged to what he did. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 while they pass therein a cup one to another wherein is no idle talk, no cause of sin, 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 25 Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious; 26 But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire. 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' 28
