And if they call you a liar, say: My work is for me and your work for you; you are clear of what I do and I am clear of what you do. 41 Among them are some who (pretend to) listen to thee: But canst thou make the deaf to hear,- even though they are without understanding? 42 Some of them look toward you: But can you show the blind the way even when they cannot see? 43 Indeed Allah does not oppress men at all, but they do wrong themselves. 44 One day He will gather them together: (It will be) as if they had tarried but an hour of a day: they will recognise each other: assuredly those will be lost who denied the meeting with Allah and refused to receive true guidance. 45 And if We show you something of what We threaten them with, or cause you to die, yet to Us is their return, and Allah is the bearer of witness to what they do. 46 Every nation has a messenger. Once their messenger has come, judgement will be passed upon them in all fairness and they will not be wronged. 47 And they say: When will this threat come about, if you are truthful? 48 Say, "I have no control over any harm or benefit to myself, except by the will of God. For every people, however, there is an appointed term. When the end of their term arrives, they cannot postpone it for an hour, nor can they advance it." 49 Say: "Have you ever thought if His punishment befalls you at night or in the day, what would the sinners do to despatch it? 50 And when it comes to pass, will you believe in it? What! now (you believe), and already you wished to have it hastened on. 51 Then it shall be said to the evildoers: 'Taste the punishment of eternity! Shall you be recompensed except according to what you earned' 52 And some people ask thee, "Is all this true?" Say: "Yea, by my Sustainer! It is most certainly true, and you cannot elude [the final reckoning]!" 53
