The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 And by oath of a passage, written – 2 on parchment for distribution, 3 By the House Frequented. 4 By the roof elevated. 5 And [by] the sea filled [with fire], 6 the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, 7 There is none can avert it;- 8 On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving, 9 And the mountains will move away with a (horrible) movement. 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 all those who [throughout their lives] but idly played with things vain 12 the day when they shall be pitched into the fire of Gehenna: 13 This is the Fire which you used to belie. 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did. 16 Surely the God-fearing shall be in Gardens and bliss, 17 Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell. 18 "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do." 19 Reclining on thrones, in rows; and We have wedded them to maidens with gorgeous eyes. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with such fruit and meat as they desire. 22 They will exchange cups of wine free of (incitement to) pleasantry or sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. 24 And some of them draw near unto others, questioning, 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 but Allah has been gracious to us and has protected us from the punishment of the burning wind. 27 before this, we used to pray to Him. Surely, He is the Beneficent, the Merciful." 28
