Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 noble, recording, 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
