The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Star when it setteth, 1 That your companion is not confused, nor has he gone astray, 2 and neither does he speak out of his own desire: 3 It is only an Inspiration that is inspired. 4 something that a very mighty one has imparted to him: 5 and endowed with wisdom; who in time manifested himself; 6 And he was on the horizon of the highest heaven. 7 Then he approached and came closer, 8 until he was but two bow-lengths away, or even nearer. 9 Thus He revealed unto His bondman whatsoever He revealed. 10 The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad SAW) saw. 11 Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad SAW) about what he saw [during the Mi'raj: (Ascent of the Prophet SAW over the seven heavens)]. 12 And certainly he saw him descend a second time: 13 at the Lote Tree (Sidrat tree) of the ending 14 Close to which is the Everlasting Paradise. 15 with the lote-tree veiled in a veil of nameless splendour 16 The sight did not shift, nor did it cross the limits. 17 truly did he see some of the most profound of his Sustainer's symbols. 18 (Can anything as such be considered true) of al-Lat, al-Uzza, 19 And Manat, the other third (of the pagan deities)? 20 Are yours the males and His the females? 21 Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair! 22 These are only names which you and your fathers have invented. No authority was sent down by God for them. They only follow conjecture and wish-fulfilment, even though guidance had come to them already from their Lord. 23 Can ever man get what he desires? 24 But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong. 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
