Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
