Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is the Kingdom: He has power over all things; 1 Who created death and life that He may try you-- which of you is best in deeds; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 who created seven heavens one upon another. Thou seest not in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection. Return thy gaze; seest thou any fissure? 3 Turn your eyes again and again. Your gaze turns back dazed and tired. 4 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieved in their Lord, is the punishment of hell; and what a wretched outcome! 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth. 7 as though bursting with rage. Each time a group is cast into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will say, "Yes, someone did come to warn us, but we rejected him saying, 'God has revealed nothing. You are in great error". 9 And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze." 10 and thus they will confess their sin; far from God's mercy are the inmates of Hell. 11 As for those who fear their Lord in the unseen will have forgiveness and a rich reward. 12 (Whether you) speak in secret or aloud, He knows the innermost of the chests. 13 Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted? 14
