Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 He said: "O my people, I warn you clearly 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 [And after a time, Noah] said: "O my Sustainer! Verily, I have been calling unto my people night and day 5 but my calling has only increased them in flight. 6 And whenever I have called them that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are puffed up with pride: 7 "And behold I called unto them openly; 8 and indeed, I spoke to them both publicly and in secret: 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 He will send down abundant rain from the sky for you, 11 "'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water). 12 What is the matter with you that you fear not the greatness of Allah? 13 seeing He created you by stages? 14 Do you not see how God has fashioned seven skies one above the other, 15 ‘And in them, has illuminated the moon, and made the sun a lamp?’ 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth, 17 and He will later cause you to return to it and will then again bring you out of it. 18 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
