Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Verily, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people (Saying): "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful torment." 1 He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open: 2 Worship God, have fear of Him and obey me. 3 and He will forgive you your sins, and defer you to a stated term; God's term, when it comes, cannot be deferred, did you but know."' 4 He said, "My Lord! I have called my people night and day 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 And verily so oft as I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they place their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves with their garments, and persist, and are stiff-necked. 7 “I then called them openly.” 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 He will send you abundant rain from the sky, 11 increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 Have you not seen how Allah created the seven heavens one above the other, 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 God made you grow from the earth. 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 "'And God has made the earth a wide expanse for you, 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
