Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ SAY: "It has been revealed to me that some of the unseen beings gave ear [to this divine writ,] and thereupon said [unto their fellow-beings]: "'Verily, we have heard a wondrous discourse, 1 Which guides to the right path; and we have come to believe in it, and will not associate any one with our Lord. 2 And He - exalted be the majesty of our Lord! hath taken neither a spouse nor a son. 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. 5 And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. 6 and they thought, even as you also thought, that God would never raise up anyone. 7 And that we sought to reach heaven, but we found it filled with strong guards and flaming stars. 8 And we were wont to sit on seats therein to listen; but whosoever listeneth now findeth for him a dartin meteor in wait. 9 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. 10 Just as [we do not know how it happens] that some from among us are righteous, while some of us are [far] below that: we have always followed widely divergent paths. 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. 13 'Amongst us are some that submit their wills (to Allah), and some that swerve from justice. Now those who submit their wills - they have sought out (the path) of right conduct: 14 but as for those who have deviated, they have become firewood for Gehenna!"' 15 (Say): "If they keep to the right path We shall give them water in abundance to drink 16 that We might try them therein. And whosoever turns away from the Remembrance of his Lord, He will thrust him into chastisement rigorous. 17 And the prostrations are for Allah; wherefore call not along with Allah anyone. 18 When the worshiper of Allah stood supplicating to Him, they swarmed around him (Prophet Muhammad). 19
