Nay, and by the moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 Of evil-doers: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until death approached us". 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
