By no means! By the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 a warning to humankind, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 in Gardens they will question 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
