Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
