Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
