Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
