In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 storming tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
