Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a known term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
