Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 separating one from another, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
