The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 About which they differ? 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
