The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
