The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 you pay attention 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
