By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and gently take it away; 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, "Will we really return to our former state?" 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And then said, "I am your most supreme lord." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
