Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Toiling, weary, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And the mountains how they have been established? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort: 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
