The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
