The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
