In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TA HA. 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 But only as an admonition to those who fear (Allah),- 3 It is a revelation from the Creator of the earth and the high heavens. 4 (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and on earth, and all between them, and all beneath the soil. 6 And if you speak aloud – so He surely knows the secret and that which is more concealed. 7 God -- there is no god but He. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. 8 And has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 9 Lo! he saw a fire [in the desert]; and so he said to his family: "Wait here! Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]: perhaps I can bring you a brand there from, or find at the fire some guidance." 10 And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: "O Musa (Moses)! 11 Indeed, I am your Lord, so remove your sandals. Indeed, you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa. 12 and I have chosen thee [to be My apostle]: listen, then, to what is being revealed [unto thee]. 13 "Verily! I am Allah! La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me, and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) for My Remembrance. 14 “The Last Day will surely come – it was close that I hide it from all – in order that every soul may get the reward of its effort.” (He revealed it to His Prophets, so that people may fear and get ready. The exact time is not revealed to the people.) 15 So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish. 16 “And what is this in your right hand, O Moosa?” 17 He said, "It is my staff; I lean upon it, and I bring down leaves for my sheep and I have therein other uses." 18 The Lord said, "Moses, throw it on the ground". 19 So he cast it down; and lo! it was a serpent running. 20 He said: Grasp it and fear not. We shall return it to its former state. 21 Put your hand under your armpit: it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This shall be another sign. 22 We shall show you some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel." 24
